WASH

WASH is one of the major themes of SSICDC. WASH is the collective term for Water Sanitation and hygiene. Due to their interdependent nature, these three core issues are grouped together to represent a growing sector. While each is a separate field of work, each is dependent on the presence of the other.

SSICDC has been implementing WASH activities in Dolpa and Gorkha District. SSICDC has long experience in water supply and sanitation activities in the Gorkha district.  it has to lead the Open defecation free (ODF) activities on Gorkha. it is the first organization of the Gorkha district for declaration of ODF area or community. similarly, we are the first organization to declaration ODF Area of Dolpa district in our water supply and sanitation scheme implementation area. The main activities under WASH Theme which we have been implementing our working area.

• Feasibility study, survey, design, and estimation.
• Social mobilization,
• water supply user committee formation, and mobilization.
• construct the water supply scheme.
• health and sanitation-related awareness orientation, campaign, day celebration.
• Operation and maintenance fund creation and mobilization. 
• conduct the training of village water supply maintenance workers.
• construction support to household and public or school toilets.
• declared the open dedication-free area, community, and VDC.
• water supply schemes reconstruction and maintenance. etc.
